Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

What is Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy?  KAP is a powerful, innovative technique that can serve a wide variety of clients, with diagnoses ranging from treatment resistant MDD, PTSD, GAD, OCD, and even difficult life transitions.

When dosed correctly, Ketamine has powerful, rapid antidepressant and trance inducing effects.  It is currently the only medication with psychedelic properties that can be legally prescribed in the U.S.

Although conventional psychiatry does utilize Ketamine therapy, there are very substantial distinctions between this conventional use of ketamine and KAP.   This distinction and other important information will be discussed in the videos below.

Integrative Psychiatry Evaluation and Follow Up

Dr. Thomas has been trained to perform a comprehensive integrative psychiatric evaluation.  Although this includes all of the important aspects of a conventional psychiatric evaluation (such as presenting problems, psychiatric history, medical history, etc), it also includes other important components.

These may include an evaluation of laboratory data from conventional labs (such as Vitamin B12, Folate, Vitamin D levels, Iron, etc.) from the perspective of optimal neurological functioning.  It may also include specialty laboratory evaluations (such as an Organic Acid Test, Food Sensitivity Profile, Adrenal Stress Index, etc).

In his treatment planning with you, he will consider a wide variety of treatment options such as targeted nutritional supplements, diet optimization, bio-identical hormone replacement, detoxification strategies, brain photonic stimulation, and many others.
